Finding therapists of color is a challenge in Phoenix. Here’s why that matters

Our very own Dr. Joanna Kim has been featured in an article by Stephanie Ines of the AZRepublic. This article demonstrates the need for funding and policies that support multilingual training. When choosing a mental health provider, oftentimes, people want a provider with an ethnic background the same or similar to theirs. This has become an increasingly difficult task, especially after Covid, and, as a city, Phoenix is severely underrepresented in terms of ethnically diverse mental health providers.
